Crossrail: Sensitivity analysis

Evaluation of the performances of the Stage 5 timetables for Crossrail

The final stage of Crossrail will be the most complex to operate, as well as the obviously most important one for this huge investment. In order to be prepared at best, trenolab was asked by MTR Crossrail to evaluate the sensitivity of operations (and the corresponding delays) towards a wide series of possible perturbations, everyday variabilities, constraints and operative principles. The results led to the proposal of tweaks to the timetable to improve its robustness, as well as to the identification of a set of measures (step-up drivers, etc) to be deployed at specific locations and time intervals.
