The Stage 5 of the MTR Elisabeth line is bringing direct services from Reading and Heathrow Airport to Abbey Wood and from Shenfield to Paddington revolutionising the London mobility map. The full Stage 5 opening, planned with substages 5a, 5b and 5c, has seen TRENOlab supporting MTR Crossrail in the dialogue with Network Rail to define the operational timetables for each stage.
Intermediate opening stages of Crossrail have been simulated testing different levels of service and different timetables. The simulation analysis looked at how the changes in sectional running times and the numbers of trains per hours impact on overall line performance considering also other operators performance metrics.
