Our team is made up by transportation and computer engineers that share the passion for railway systems. The company is managed by:

Giorgio Medeossi was co-founder and president of LIFT until the foundation of TRENOlab. He studied at the University of Trieste, receiving a PhD in Transportation Engineering in 2010. In 2006 he developed his Master Thesis at the ETH Zurich (CH). In 2011 he was awarded the Young Researcher Award of the International Association of Railway Operations Research (IAROR). With 10 years of experience and over 50 studies involving railway simulation, he is the Technical Director of TRENOlab.

Stefano de Fabris is the chief developer of TRENO. He studied Computer Engineering and received a PhD in Transport Engineering at the University of Trieste in 2011. His PhD research focus, thesis and the paper “A new approach for calibrating the motion equation in the stochastic modeling of railway operations”, were extremely appreciated at international level, since they allow remarkably increasing the accuracy of railway simulation. The following paper “A method for using stochastic blocking times to improve timetable planning” defined a groundbreaking approach for the evaluation of the quality of a timetable while planning it.
